XBitLabs is reporting that Intel plans on releasing new low cost dual core processors in the hopes of making sure all the various market segments are covered by Intel. The new processors will be the Intel Pentium D Model 805’s which feature a lower clock speed and a lower front side bus than other Pentium D processors. The 805 will run at 2.66GHz and have a 533MHz FSB and should be available in March 2006. Wholesale prices for this new processor should be around 178 dollars or so if not less. Duallies across the board is definitely a good thing. There’s not much sense in building a single core desktop these days if the price is right.
