AMD has announced that they have cut prices on their Athlon 64 X2 and Turion processor lineup by as much as 20 percent. Although the prices are not officially up, most of the confirmed price cuts were in the mobile lineup of processors – the Turion processor. The high end Turon 64 ML-44 was cut from $525 to $354. The ML-42 saw a drop of 26 percent while the ML-40 got a 16 percent cut. Meanwhile, the fastest Athlon 64 X2 – the 4800+ processor got a price cut from $803 down to $643.  The 4600+ and the 4400+ X2 chips received a 14 and 8 percent price cut respectively. Again – lower prices are always good!
