Alright.. I’ve been waiting for one of these reviews – PC Magazine is out with a look at the newest Apple iMac – the Core Duo edition here. This is one of the two new Mac products announced at MacWorld featuring the new Intel Core Duo processor. The iMacs are available in two different configurations which mainly differ in speed, hard drive capacity, and display size. Here’s the verdict from PC Magazine:

Casual Mac users will love the new iMac (Intel Core Duo), but professional users or anyone who uses graphics apps like Adobe Photoshop and video-editing software (such as Final Cut Pro) should wait until those tools are updated.

As expected, if you are using the latest iLife applications, then this is the mac for you. If you are using high end stuff like Photoshop, you might want to wait a bit until Intel optimized versions are out. Nevertheless if this is your first Mac.. then go for it.
