NVIDIA is roundeding out their low end product line with the introduction of the new GeForce 7300 GS GPU. Cards based on the 7300 GS will average $99 and will support features such as Pixel Shader 3.0 and High Dynamic Range (HDR) lighting. The 7300 GS has a 64 bit memory interface which is smaller than the high end 7800’s 256 bit interface. Some performance metrics on the new 7300GS are as follows:

  • Vertex fill rate of 413 million vertices
  • pixel fill rate of 2.2 billion pixels/seconds
  • memory bandwidth of 6.5 GB/second

Cards based on the 7300 GS will also be able to output video at 1080i – could this make a good cheap graphics solutions for media PCs?
