Now that Apple systems are officially out and using Intel processors, the Apple marketing engine is in full effect. There’s an Apple television ad out that proclaims that up until now – Intel processors have been “trapped inside PCs – dull little boxes, dutifully performing dull little tasks”. Apparently Apple systems will now set the Intel CPU free..

The funny part about all of this was how Intel did not realize the ad would go this way. Although Apple did talk to Intel about pieces of the ad, the final campaign was not shown to Intel until very late in the game. No doubt Intel would never have gone for the ad if they were to see it earlier. Apple’s effectively called 95% of the rest of the computer world dull. As a consequence the projected image is that Intel also thinks these systems and their tasks are dull… oh so not true.
