Sometimes you just have to watch what you say on blogs. Case in point? There’s this story over at Ars Technica about how a Blurty.com user named Blake Ranking told prosecutors one story while writing about the same story in a completely different light. Ranking was involved in a drunken car accident where one friend lost his life and another was seriously injured. He told investigators that he didn’t remember a thing about the car accident but then later ended up blogging about the entire event online. He disclosed how he felt about the entire ordeal and admitted that he was the one who caused the single car accident. This blog entry was eventually found out by prosecutors who then planned to use it against Ranking. He has since entered into a plea agreement which would get him a manslaughter DUI and five years in prison. What’s particularly interesting about this case is how prosecutors were planning to use a blog entry against him in a court of law. SO people.. watch what you say.. and watch what you blog about.
