If you were lucky enough to attend CES 2006 this year, you probably got a glimpse at the new TiVo Series 3 DVR unit there. The new box is a CableCard supporting HDTV DVR unit which is due out in the 2nd half of 2006. Now get this - the box actually six tuners inside. There are two cable tuners, two ATSC tuners and two NTSC tuners. You can use any two of the six tuners inside at once. The system also supports digital and analog cable, digital ATSC OTA, and analog NTSC OTA.

Output wise, the new TiVo Series 3 supports HDMI, Component Video, S-Video, and Composite video. The front of the box has a jazzed up display showing the title of the show tuned in at the time and an output indicator telling you if the content is in 480i/p, 720p, or 1080i formats.
