SanDisk has introduced a new flash based MP3 player called the SanDisk Sansa e200 which has similar dimensions to the Apple iPod nano except for its thickness. The e200 is thicker than the iPod nano but the thickness buys you battery life as SanDisk is able to place a more powerful battery inside the player. Battery life is expected to be around 30 hours with the e200 - way over nano’s battery life. The e200 includes a 1.8 inch color screen and comes in three storage capacities - 2GB, 4GB and 6GB. Aside from the battery life, the e200 includes a scratch resistant body which should please nano haters out there who can’t stand the ease at which the nano scratches.

Other features on the e200 include an integrated FM tuner, FM recording, photo playback, and slideshow support. The 2GB model will set you back $199; the 4GB $249 and the 6GB – $299. Expect the players in March of 2006.
