Sony is out with a batch of new desktop systems and Akihabara News covers them here. Let’s go over them quickly.
First up is the new Sony Type M desktop which is available in three pastel colors – pink, blue, and white. The Type M is an all in one desktop system with a folding keyboard which covers the screen when the system is not in use. You’ll get a 2.8 GHz Celeron processor, a widescreen 15.4 inch display with a 1280 x 800 resolution, a large 300GB HDD, a SiS graphics card, and a dual layer DVD burner.

Next up is yet another all in one unit called the Sony Type V. The Type V comes with either a 17 inch or 20 inch display and is designed for the digital living room. It comes with Digital BS/CS Satellite TV tuner card, a Pentium 4 640 processor, 1GB of RAM, 2 – 250GB HDD, an ATI Radeon X700 graphics unit, 2 analog TV tuners, and a dual layer DVD burner.
Keeping with the digital living room feel, the new media oriented Sony Vaio Type H features 2 analog TV tuners and one digital TV tuner for HD signals. The system sports an Intel Pentium D 820 processor, a 17 or 20 inch display, Intel 945G Express Graphics, 1GB of RAM, 400GB HDD, and a dual layer DVD burner.
Finally, Sony updates their tower lineup with the VAIO Type R system which includes 2 analog TV tuners, a Pentium D 920 processor, 2 – 200GB HDDs, 1GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce 660.
