As part of the Viiv platform, the 3550 comes with Intel’s Quick Resume Technology which provides one button on/off operation similar to televisions. The system also comes with dual core processors, 7.1 channel surround sound, and an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950. Check out the product page for additional information. The 3550 is available now.
Meanwhile, Alienware has also announced a new all in one Media Center system called the Area-51 5400. Alienware decided to use Intel’s new Core Duo technology in their 5400 system which reduces power consumption and as a result, lowers acoustic levels from the system. The system also features Intel’s Viiv Technology, support for 802.11a/b/g networking, NVIDIA GeForce Go 6600 graphics, integrated camera with microphone, and an optional TV tuner.
