DualCor Technologies will be previewing their new DualCor cPC handheld device at CES 2006. This is the first device to feature both Windows XP Tablet Edition and Windows Mobile 5.0 OS on the same platform. With both OS’s on the system, you get the power of a desktop OS with the portability and instant on readiness of a mobile OS. To accomplish this feat, DualCor packs in two processors inside the device – a 1.5GHz processor for XP and a 400MHz processor for Windows Mobile. Although we don’t really know what the processors are, we suspect they would be a Pentium M derivative and an XScale processor – both from Intel. What we do know is that the cPC measures 6.5” x 3.3” x 1.2” and comes with a 5 inch, 800 x 480 resolution screen, three USB 2.0 ports, a headset and phone jack, integrated Compact Flash Type II slot support, mini-VGA port, speaker, microphone, and mouse controls. On the storage side, you get 1GB of RAM and a 40GB HDD built right in. The cPC will retail for $1500 and should be available during the first quarter of this year.
