Pentax introduces two new digital cameras – the Optio A10 and the Optio E10
Yet another digital camera announcement – this time it’s from Pentax with their new Optio A10 and Optio E10 digital cameras. The A10 is the first Pentax compact digital camera to feature an 8 megapixel image sensor while the E10 is an affordable entry level camera with a 6 megapixel image sensor.
The Optio A10 is the flagship of the Optio digital camera lineup and features an 8 megapixel image sensor, 3x optical zoom lens, a 2.5 inch LCD screen, shake reduction system, and rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. The A10 product page is located here.
The Optio E10 features a 6 megapixel image sensor, 3x optical zoom lens, and a 2.4 inch color LCD screen. You’ll also find 10 MB of internal memory, usage of two AA batteries, and AVI movie capture. The E10 product page is here. The expected price of the camera is under $200.
These new cameras also use the new Pentax naming convention which labels products via a letter and a model number as opposed to the number of megapixels. The Optio A series are high end cameras while the Optio E series are entry level products.
