Pioneer Electronics has announced that their first Blu-ray drive will go on sale during the first quarter of 2006. The drive, known as the BDR-101A, will be initially targeted to content creation professionals who will want to make sure their BD-ROM movies work properly before mass producing them. No price has been set for the BDR-101A but don’t expect the drive to be cheap (nor the media!).
