MobilityToday reviews the OQO Model 01+ ultraportable computer here. Looking more like a PDA than a laptop, this 1 GHz Transmeta based system actually runs Microsoft Windows XP. The 01+ is the second generation OQO device featuring a 30GB HDD, 512MB of RAM, Wi-Fi support, Bluetooth support, USB 2.0, FireWire support, audio, thumb keyboard, and a 800 x 480 LCD display. As much as I think devices like these are really cool – they tend to be more useful in vertical markets than in everyday use. Perhaps this is more the fault of the OS than the system design. If handwriting recognition was truly up to par, then a touch sensitive display would be all that you would need. Unfortunately that day is not here yet. In the meantime, if you truly desire a portable system, then check out the OQO. Here’s Mobility Today’s verdict:

If you are looking for a second computer that will not be your primary and you travel alot the OQO is definitely the answer.
