The folks at ExtremeMHz review the NHJ MPM-201 Portable Video Recorder/Player here. This PMP device has the following specs:

• 30 GB HDD
• MPEG4 playback
• Video and audio recording
• 3.5 inch TFT LCD screen with 480 x 234 resolution

File format wise, the NHJ supports MPEG4 AVI files recorded at 640 x 480 at 30 fps, MP3/WMA files, and JPEG files. Oh yes – it’s also DivX friendly too. The verdict?

While this unit is not perfect by any means, it does function very well as a video recorder and playback of all videos, regardless of quality, was flawless. The major issues with this unit are the GUI and music playback. If you plan on purchasing this product to handle all your media files, I would not recommend it. However, if you you already have an MP3 player that you can’t seem to part with but would like an inexpensive portable video player/recorder with excellent playback, this is certainly the product for you. Unfortunately, at its price level, there were compromises to quality.
