Amp’d Mobile Launches and Kyocera KX18 Reviewed
Amp’d launched on Dec. 15th and PC Magazine takes a look at both the new service as well as a new phone being offered by Amp’d – the Keyocera KX18 which is also known as the Jet. Amp’d is a new wireless service provider that uses the Verizon Wireless Network. Yes – the Verizon network is arguably the best wireless network in the country but unfortunately Verizon’s multimedia offerings are a bit lame. This is where Amp’d comes in – they use the existing network and concentrate on delivering a multimedia experience. The service is slightly cheaper than Verizon also. As for the phone, it supports EV-DO, has a 1.9 inch 176 x 220 262K color display, VGA camera, TransFlash card support, 8MB of RAM, and weighs 3.9 ounces. The early verdict on all of this?
Looks like a good start: Amp’d will mix Verizon’s call quality with cool content.
