ExtremeTech has published an excerpt from their book “Build the Ultimate Home Theater PC” entitled “A Case and Power Supply for your DIY Media PC”. There are many things to consider when choosing the proper case for your system including how well the ventilation is, how easy it is to install a motherboard and drives, and how noisy the case is when fans are installed. Choosing the right power supply is also important. You’ll want a PSU that provides ample power to your system but you also want a PSU that isn’t loud nor too hot. Remember, the hotter things get, the more fans you’ll need to cool things down which equates to more noise.

Finally one of the cases that they feature in the article is the Uneed X15e HTPC case which I absolutely love for its integrated LCD panel.
