Sony PS3 still on track for spring 2006 launch
Despite some rumors of a fall 2006 release for the PS3, Sony claims that the next generation console is on track for a spring time 2006 launch. The timely launch of the PS3 is not only important for the game console wars but also for the movie industry with regards to the next generation DVD format. The earlier the PS3 can come out with Blu-ray support, the better Blu-ray is positioned against HD DVD. It’s as simple as that.
