Verizon Wireless has announced a new cell phone navigation service to their subscribers called VZ Navigator. It is being unveiled with the new Motorola V325 handset and will cost subscribers an additional 10 dollars a month fee or a 3 dollars a day fee. The navigation system will provide turn by turn routing and voice instructions to the user. This could lead to big revenue gains for mobile phone companies as they seek to find additional sources of revenues from the wireless business. The VZ Navigator service uses AtlasBook technology which was developed by Networks in Motion using map data from Navteq and back end support from Autodesk.
