PC Magazine takes a look at Apple’s 10 foot user interface called “Front Row” here. Front Row is similar in concept to Microsoft’s Windows Media Center User Interface in that it allows users a way to view music, movies, photos, and videos from afar using a remote control. Currently Front Row is officially only available with the newest iMac G5 system. Here’s the verdict:
The software is a good first step, but Apple certainly has its work cut out for it, since Windows Media Center Edition has the lead in adoption and development, not to mention the greater variety of systems it is available on.
