There’s a very cool article over at PC Magazine detailing a UK firm called Eleksen and their “electronic fabric” product. Basically, electronics fabric is carbon-embedded nylon sandwiched between layers of nylon mesh. Once you pass some current through there, the fabric can recognize touch, pressure, direction and path of a stroke. The fabric itself connects to a processor which can then connect to a device of your choosing. So what is this all for? Well in theory, you can now have clothing with wearable electronic fabric which can control your various gadgets. The stuff is found in ski jackets from Spyder and Kemp right now and goes for $250 bucks. Check out the PC Magazine article for lots of pics.
