Forgive me, but I've got an Apple MacBook and was hopping to use my Dell Printer. You'd think Printer makers would try to make their printers compatible with any large consumer base. Guess they must think of making products for OS X users as a conflict of interests. Too bad. I still kind of like Dell's stuff. It even sort of matches my MacBook.

Guess I'll have to install the windows drivers in Paralles, but clearly running a printer/scanner/fax only in a virtual machine is not a long term solution.

Considering the current growth of Apple's market share and Microsoft's next version of Windows (Vista), Dell, HP, eMachine, and all the rest might want to consider colaborating on an alternative to Windows really soon. I've used MS DOS 5 up to Vista RC2, and Mac OS 7 to OS 10, as well as Redhat Linux 5 up to 9. Seems to me the big dogs would do well to embrase Suse or Redhat and help to unify the free software into a more common integrated solution. Something everyone can get, use and relie on, not to mention upgrade for free. Let the Microsoft Channel Partners change their business moddels to be more focused on Support contracts.

As for this AIO device, it's light duty. I've already had to bend the metal push plate that holds down the paper in the ADF. But it's simple enough for my 1st and 2nd graders to use for copies :-).

I recommend anyone wanting to use the Dell Photo AIO 964 printer (in the workgroup environment) with a Dell 3300 Wirless printer adapter to stay clear away. While wireless printing has been rock solid, scanning from the device to various wireless/wired computers is extremely flakely. I wasted 5 hours of my life with Dell Tech Support (India?), with absolutely nothing resolved - and am still waiting for a callback.

PS: If anyone finds a better solution that just "works", I'm all ears..!
