Here’s a new spin on portable speakers for the iPod – the Oregon Scientific iBall. You combine a wireless transmitter to an iPod dock and then place portable wireless speakers wherever you want and presto – you can bring music with you wherever you can reach 2.4GHz signals coming from the transmitter. The transmitter base charges and syncs your iPod like any other dock but it also acts as a wireless transmitter. The iBall itself is a three speaker array system in the shape of a sphere. It has a display console and a built in remote control for controlling the iPod wirelessly.
