Are you looking for a small portable GPS device that works both in the car and while you’re out and about on foot? Check out the Mio269 DigiWalker reviewed here by ExtremeTech.com. This $599 GPS device features:
- Intel 300MHz XScale processor
- 64MB of SDRAM
- Microsoft Windows CE
- SD/MMC slot
- 3.5 inch color screen with 320 x 240 resolution in 65K colors
- XTrack SiRFStar II GPS Chip
The verdict from ExtremeTech?
The Mio269 may work well as a handheld GPS in certain situations, but interface lag, the inability to work in a city environment and other UI issues make it difficult to recommend.
Unfortunately ExtremeTech doesn’t give it high marks – but the idea was good.. better luck next time?
