Time Warner has announced that they will be making “classic” television shows available for free over the Internet. Some of the “classic” shows include “Chico and the Man”, “Wonder Woman”, and “Maverick” – yes sir.. shows I am just dying to watch. These shows will have 2 minutes of commercials which can not be skipped – further proof I want to watch these shows. TW plans offering an optional higher definition format called Hi-Q. The content will be made available according to a staggered schedule.

The more interesting part of the announcement is the AOL Hi-Q format which AOL claims can deliver DVD quality video over broadband connections using a peer to peer network developed in partnership with Kontiki.
