The woes continue for my HDTV tuner installations on my Windows Media Center 2005 box. The last time I reported on this, it appeared that the FusionHDTV add in card would work for me (despite problems reported on various postings on TheGreenButton.com) but after a few days, I’ve been running similar problems that others are having.
Problems thus far include:
- Errors being reported in Windows Events Manager attributable to the FusionHDTV drivers
- Problems with IRQ sharing – hard to overcome given the limited # of PCI slots that I have
- Software interaction with MCE being inconsistent
Trust me – I would love to work with the FusionHDTV card. The card has a much better ability at detecting signals than the other two cards that I’ve tested but unfortunately it’s just too picky a piece of hardware. Last up on my list – the Avermedia A180 which I hope to pick up soon. Wish me luck!
