Google has released the final version of Google Desktop 2 on their website. You can get the new version here. I have Google Desktop installed on my machine (despite some privacy concerns) and I must say it’s quite good.

There are now dozens of third party Sidebar panels that you can install onto the Google Desktop. It’s funny to see push content make a comeback – in a slightly less annoying fashion. If you’re a developer, you can also use Javascript to create plugins for Google Desktop 2.
