Cable giants in agreement with Sprint Nextel
Four of the nation’s largest cable companies have come together to establish a joint agreement with Sprint Nextel to deliver next generation products based around cable and wireless technologies. The four cable companies are Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cox, and Advance/Newhouse communications. The joint agreement is being made in response to increasing competition from Baby Bells who offer wireless services and are now looking to get into the television services market. The five companies agreed to a 20 year joint venture with the four cable companies investing 100 million and Sprint Nextel investing another 100 million.
