Intel’s inside RIM. Research In Motion announced the new BlackBerry 8700c email device (formerly known as Electron) which uses an Intel XScale processor and comes with 64 MB of flash memory and 16MB of SRAM. Cingular will carry the 8700c and will begin shipping the phone starting on November 21st. You can purchase the phone for $299 with a two year plan.

The 8700c features support for EDGE networks which means you’ll see noticeable faster web browsing, as well as faster application performance due to the Intel XScale processor. The device comes with a backlit, ergonomic, full QWERTY keyboard for easy data entry. The display features a bright 320 x 240 landscape QVGA screen and supports 65K colors.
