NEC has unveiled a new high end multimedia laptop called the LaVie T LT900. The LT900 includes a hardware based MPEG2 real time decoder which relieves the burden of software decoding. This frees up the processor to perform other important tasks. The LaVie also includes a video scaler which can convert 4:3 formatted video into 16:9 widescreen. Other features of the LaVie T LT900 include:
- Intel Pentium M Processor 740
- Dual layer dual format DVD burner
- 160GB storage capacity (across 2 hard drives)
- One touch multimedia buttons on the laptop
- NEC SoundVu technology
