There’s a report out stating that a group of cable companies are in talks with Sprint Nextel to offer wireless services to their customers. This comes as competition heats up between cable companies and telephone companies – with each market segment overlapping one another.

The group of cable companies in question consist of Cox, Comcast, and Time Warner Cable. If an agreement is reached, the three of them would offer Sprint Nextel branded services to their customers which could also include offering Wi-Fi to connect cell phones to set top boxes and wireless broadband services to laptops.
