Now this is truly cool – researchers at Rice University have developed the world’s smallest car ever called the Nanocar. The Nanocar is built from a single molecule and measures a scant four nanometers long and three wide. It even has four independent rotating axles, built in suspension, and large oversized wheels.

So what’s the point in having something so small? It’s called bottom up fabrication. These tiny cars can be used to ferry materials from location to location where others simply can’t. The research continues as the next Nanocar will hopefully have an internal motor.
