I’m actually not sure how I missed this product announcement a few weeks back but Sprint PCS (err Nextel) is now offering a Windows based Smartphone called the Sprint PPC-6700. This is actually one of the smallest Pocket PC based smartphones out on the market and it’s also lighter than the Treo. The keyboard is the real wonder here – it slides out along the side of the phone instead of being on the bottom of the phone. This means you can switch the screen into landscape mode and type out messages with ease. The unit supports EV-DO and it also supports Wi-Fi at the same time (unlike the Verizon Wireless Samsung i730). The verdict from PC Magazine?

This is the best Windows Mobile PDA/phone we’ve seen, with a nearly ideal balance of size and power, though we have a few quibbles.

Man I’m psyched.. problem is.. there’s the new Treo phone and the new Motorola Q coming out for VW. Ugh.. what to do?

[Check it out]
