CNET reviews the Dell 5100MP Projector here. If you’re not familiar with the 5100 MP projector, it has the following specs:

  • Bright 3,300 ANSI Lumens (Max) 2
  • Superior high contrast ratio of 2500:1 (Full on/Full off)
  • At less than 8.3 pounds, the 5100MP is ideal for professional presentation in the conference or boardroom
  • Integrated zoom lens and Automatic Vertical Keystone correction
  • DLPTM DDR technology from Texas Instruments
  • Native SXGA+ (1400 x 1050), with autosync up to UXGA (1600 x 1200)
  • Eco-mode option for quieter operation and to extend lamp life up to 2200 hours
  • One Audio In and Out connector
  • Supports full range of television and video standards, including NTSC, NTSC 4.43, PAL (B/D/G/H/I/M/N), SECAM (B/D/G/K/K1/L) and HDTV (480i/P; 576i/P, 720P; 1080i)
  • Separate HDMI and Component video input
  • Internal 2 X 2W speaker

Based on the specs, you’d think the projector was designed for home theater use but it’s not – it’s actually great for businesses that are looking for high resolution projectors. What does CNET think?

The Dell 5100MP projects a bright, high-resolution image and lets IT administrators monitor it from afar, but it can’t put network images onscreen.
