RCA is trying to remove the PC from the digital audio equation with the RCA RS2052 Rip & Go Digital Music Studio. The RS2052 is a 160 watt bookshelf stereo system with a five CD changer, FM Tuner, and SD card slot. It also has its own 128MB MP3 player that you can connect to the system via a USB port. You can then take a CD, rip it on the system and have the system directly copy the contents to the RCA MP3 player. Unfortunately you can not copy files from the SD card to the MP3 player and the player itself is just passable in terms of functionality. Other features include: MP3/WMA playback and a built in clock alarm. PC Mag’s verdict on this system?

The Rip & Go performs fairly well as a standard bookshelf stereo system, but its digital audio capabilities leave a lot to be desired, even for complete novices.
