Palm unveils two new PDAs - drops Tungsten and Zire names
Palm is introducing two new affordable PDAs today - the Palm TX and the Palm Z22. In doing so, Palm drops the names Tungsten and Zire from the product lineup in favor of the abbreviated letters and numbers. So let’s look at the specs:
The Palm TX has:
- Intel 312MHz ARM processor
- Built in Audio
- Support for MMC, SD, SDIO cards
- Built in Wi-Fi
- Large 320 x 480 color screen supporting more than 65,000 colors
- VersaMail email client - check your corporate or your personal email
- DocumentsToGo support
- 128MB of non-volatile flash memory
- Carry music, photos and videos in your pocket
- Bluetooth support - do I need to say more?
- Same classic design - new steel blue color
- 3.08″ W x 4.76″ H x .61″ D
The Palm Z22 is Palms’ new low end affordable PDA with the following features:
- Simple to use
- Color display with 160 x 160 resolution
- 200MHz ARM based processor
- 32 MB with 20 MB accessible to user
- .7″ W x 4.06″ H x .6″ D
The new Z22 will sell for $99 while the TX will sell for $299.
