DesignTechnica reviews the HP PhotoSmart 475 here. The 475 is designed to be a portable photo printer with the included handle on the top of the chassis. However it’s not just a photo printer either! It has 1.5GB of onboard memory which allows consumers the ability to store up to 1000 digital images right on the printer itself. You can then save images to media cards, print the images out, or even connect the printer to a TV and present a slide show. This is a portable image viewer/printer without the need for a PC. HP has taken the portable printer from an output device to a multipurpose machine that stores images, presents slideshows and prints in various sizes and formats. At $279, it’s a bit pricey given its average quality and light plastic construction, especially given the ever-plummeting price of full-size photo printers offering better quality.
