Let’sGoDigital previews the new Nikon CoolPix S3 digital camera here. Not familiar with the S3? Here are the major features:
* Stores images on SD memory cards (camera features 12 MB of built-in memory); powered by lithium-ion battery (battery and Coolstation dock/charger included)
* 6-megapixel digital camera captures enough detail for photo-quality 14 x 19-inch prints
* 3x optical zoom; 2.5-inch LCD display
* 17 programmed mode, 4 with Scene Assist; photograph as close as 1.6 inches in macro mode;
* Nikon Exclusive Feature System includes In-Camera Red-Eye Fix, D-Lighting, and more
Ever since I lost my Sony DSC-T1, I’ve been considering the S3 as a possible replacement. As much as I like the new Sony N1, the S3 looks simple yet full of advanced features. Check out the Let’sGoDigital article as it compares the S3 up against the likes of Sony, Konica Minolta, and FujiFilm cameras. The preview comment from them?
We have had the Nikon Coolpix S3 in our possession for a short time but this was enough to give us a first impression. The beautiful design of the camera is striking and eye-catching. Nikon has paid more and more attention to the software inside the camera lately.
