Blockbuster has announced that it will miss its target of having 2 million online subscribers and will also have a same store rental revenue drop of approximately 1 percent when compared to 2004 third quarter results. Blockbuster, which competes against Netflix in the online DVD rental business, had earlier stated it would reach 2 million subscribers for its online DVD rental service by Q1 of 2006. It now believes it will reach its goals later on in the year.
