Dell begins shipping OS Free Dimension PCs
Dell is releasing a new line of Dimension PC desktops called the n Series. With the n Series, you can purchase a PC without a preinstalled OS on board – which basically means you don’t need to use (or pay for ) Microsoft Windows if you don’t want to.
The first desktop to ship as part of the n series is called the E510 and it even comes with an unformatted hard drive. Dell will provide a copy of FreeDOS in case you really want a barebones OS installed! (Do you even remember how to use DOS?)
Ah one side note – Dell does not support non-Dell installed operating systems so don’t expect help if you installed Linux on your own.
