beblu component system reviewed
EPIACenter reviews the beblu component system here. The beblu is a VIA processor powered system designed for home entertainment purposes. When you’re designing an HTPC, you’re often more concerned about noise and heat than about absolute speed. Unfortunately the folks at EPIACenter found the system to be a bit on the noisy side. The beblu has the following specifications:
* A Via SP13000 mainboard with integrated 1.33 GHz processor.
* 512MB Kingston official approves
* A 120gb hard drive
* A 150watt power supply
* Hauppauge winTV NovaT PCI card.
* Material: 100% Aluminium
* Cooling: Passive or 40mm Ultra Quiet fan (approx. 18dB)
* Finish: Anodised in various colours
* Dimensions: 200mm x 75.5mm x 306mm (WxHxD)
* Form factor: mini-ITX
* Front connectors: up to 1 x USB; 1 x Firewire; 1 x MIC; 1 x Headphones
* Drive bays: 1 x 3.5″ Internal and/or 1 x 5.25″ Internal
* Power supply: Internal 150W with external block.
* Noise: 11dB in passive or 18dB with fan
Here’s the verdict:
I give this system 9/10
It does exactly what it is designed to do and it does it very well. The only major bad thing is the size and its noise.
I want one; I wish I could keep this one.
