Warning, I have been using this device to recharge Duracell and Energizer alkaline batteries, I mark the recharged batteries with an "X". Well I'd say 25% of them have leaked causing damage to my digital camera, and underwater scuba diving light and numerous other lights and clocks. Certainly this thing cost me more money than I saved on batteries.

Al,

Where can you recycle alkaline batteries? I checked in my area and there is no place to take them. I hate throwing them away.

Stop, Warning -- Causes Battery Leaks!!!

Before recharging batteries I never experienced any battery leaks. Since using this, I've seen about 20 alkaline batteries leak. Several have damaged equipment (remote control, telephone headset, flashlight).

I did nothing unusual. I used the product as directed.

Most of the batteries are Duracells. The leakage may not occur immediately. I have now recycled all the alkaline batteries, and will never use this charger again.
