HP plans on introducing a 37 inch television next year that will bring digital entertainment to a new level. The new television will have the ability to connect to the PC or the internet over your home network. Using the television sets built in capabilities, the unit will be able to access content stored either on the internet or on your local PCs. Interestingly enough, it appears that HP is developing its own user interface for this next generation television as opposed to using something like a Media Center Extender appliance to connect to PCs. This isn’t a bad move since not everyone has a Windows Media Center PC but most people probably have a Windows machine. The new television will have built in 802.11a/b/g wireless networking, and software that will let it talk to other PC’s on the network.
