AOpen is set to unveil their Mac mini competitor - the AOpen Pandora desktop. The 2 inch tall PC is set to come out just in time for the holiday shopping PC and will come in two models. Dell XPS 400 reviewed
Dell recently announced that it would be going after the luxury PC market previously occupied by the likes of Alienware and Voodoo PC. Dell is undoubtedly the king of low cost PCs, churning out models like there’s no tomorrow at drop dead prices. This allows Dell to make money off of sheer volume. High end PC’s are just that - they’re high end and therefore expensive. You don’t sell quite as many as the cheapies but you get more profit per purchase. Dell is now relabeling their XPS lineup to delineate their luxury PC lineup. PC Magazine reviews the newest system - the Dell XPS 400 here.
This is a Pentium D system with 1GB of RAM, 320GB of storage space, and an NVIDIA GeForce 6800 graphics card. The price? 2799 direct with a 20 inch monitor. The verdict?
Dell’s new luxury multimedia desktop suits demanding users who expect more from a system and want the best available.

Million Dollar Home Page - the things people do to make money
I4U takes a look at the Million Dollar Home Page which is the brain child of 21 yr old Alex Tew of the UK. The basic premise is - he will sell a 10 x 10 pixel block on the home page for $100. The total amount of space is 1,000,000 pixels which means he can theoretically make upwards to $1,000,000. So get this - the guy has already made over $180K. Now that is pure genious folks. Of course there are many other copy cats out now. Check out the I4U review of this.

Timbuk2 Bag In A Box reviewed
I’ve been a messenger bag user for nearly 15 years now - from my days in High School up till now. In the early days, I used a Manhattan Portage bag but nowadays I use a Crumpler bag for my every day activities. Another big name in the messenger bag business is Timbuk2 and the folks over at the Gadgeteer review their Timbuk2 Bag In A Box kit. It’s basically a gift card that lets you log into the Timbuk2 website and configure your own messenger bag to your specifications. That’s pretty cool. What’s their verdict?
I find it to be very comfortable against my back since the bag is soft and molds to the shape it rests against. I’ve been really happy with the materials and workmanship of this bag.

ASUS Extreme N6600 Silencer/HTD reviewed
I usually don’t post reviews of video cards but I thought this particular review would be interesting to those interested in building home theater systems. ExtremeTech reviews the ASUS Extreme N6600 Silencer/HTD here which is a high performance video card that is also passively cooled. Why is this important? Well it could be the fact solution for those who want to build quiet but powerful home theater pc systems. The only problem with the ASUS solution? It’s a bit bulky. Here’s the verdict from ExtremeTech:
The ASUS Extreme N6600GT Silencer/HTD offers an innovative if bulky solution to noisy graphics card cooling fans. But some cases and CPU cooling situations are not well-suited for this card.

R2-D2 PC .. WOW
Sometimes you see something so cool that you really just don’t know what to say. This is the case with the R2-D2 project being performed by one of the forum members of PimpRig.com. TheGreatSatan has constructed a life size R2-D2 system that is actually a high performance gaming system complete with a VapoChill unit. How awesome is that. One little problem with a life size R2-D2 is indeed the size but hey - if he’s got the room - go for it! Wow. This guy deserves ALL THE PROPS!
