Sony DRU-720A and DRU-810A DVD burners reviewed
ExtremeTech reviews two excellent DVD burners in the form of the Sony DRU-720A and DRU-810A here. The newer 810 drive uses technology from BenQ and goes for $119 on the Sony website while the 720 can be found for around 80 to 100 bucks. Here’s the summary for the 810:
The DRU-810A finally makes DVD burning a worry-free process by supporting all the DVD recordable media types (except DVD-RAM, which is rapidly waning).
and the summary for the 720:
The DRU-720A can be found at an economical price, and does burn DVD+R DL at 4x speeds. It’s also a little faster on single layer media than the new drive.
