Apple fans are a bit peeved at Apple for including a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) chip on the Intel based development boxes that were distributed to developers. As it turns out, you can not install OS X on a system without the TPM chip which means of course that the OS is tied to the inclusion of the chip. You can install other OS’s on a system with TPM installed. Fans all over are annoyed that Apple is using the TPM system since every TPM chip has a unique ID thereby causing privacy concerns. My take – just gotta learn to live with this. There are pros and cons to every security initiative and I think this is something that just isn’t going away.
