Sony will be releasing upgraded PS3 prototypes to game developers in August to help them get a better feel for what the final system will be like. The new evaluation system is code named Cytology and will use a 2.4 GHz CELL processor as opposed to the 3.2 GHz processor which will be in the final shipping version of the PS3. One key upgraded component will be the inclusion of an NVIDIA GeForce 7800 graphics chip on the system. The final upgraded system going out to developers will occur in December.
