The new NewTek TriCaster brings live TV production to any household willing to shell out approximately $5000. It comes in a customized Shuttle XPC case and includes:
* NewTek’s VT4 video production card
* 250 GB HDD
* Customized front plate with six video input ports (three composite, three S-Video), two 1/4-inch microphone jacks, and audio/composite/S-Video outputs.
The TriCaster UI is built on top of Windows XP and emulates the look and feel of a studio control room. What does ExtremeTech think of this new product?

A video production trailer in a box, the TriCaster lets anyone with $5,000 create live video on the fly. If you can live with the limitations, it works great. We just wish it played a little nicer with the rest of our systems and that the optional switching keyboard cost less than $1,000.
