Say hello to S1Digital folks – it’s another company entering the growing media center market. They are now offering two new Media Center systems – the Media Center Platinum HDTV Edition and the Media Center Gold Edition. Here are the specs to the two new platforms:

* Home theater component case
* 1GB RAM
* 320GB SATA drive (with option of additional drive)
* Wireless 802.11g
* Remote control, keyboard & mouse
* DVD+DL Drive
* 6600GT video
* Dual SD capture cards (Hauppauge 500MCE)
* Single OTA HDTV capture card (Fusion 5 lite)
* Memory card reader.

Media Center Gold Edition:

* Windows Media Center Edition 2005
* Pentium 4 630 processor (3.0GHz)
* Slim home theater component case
* 512MB RAM
* 250GB SATA drive (with option of additional drive)
* Remote control, keyboard & mouse
* DVD+DL Drive

* Option of additional SD capture to allow watching/recording of two programs simultaneously.

I think it’s great that more companies are building systems that look more like high end audio/video gear as opposed to items that look like regular PCs.. yet remember – if you are technically competent, you can easily build one of these for less.
