ExtremeTech reviews sound isolating in-ear earphones
If you’re looking for replacement earphones for that iPod of yours – you should look over ExtremeTech’s roundup of sound isolating in-ear earphones. They look at the following earphones:
- Etymotic Research ER·6 Isolator
- Shure E3c
- Shure E4c
- Ultimate Ears super.fi 5EB
- Ultimate Ears super.fi 5Pro
- Koss The Plug
The final verdict?
If you’re on a tight budget, Etymotic Research’s ER6 Isolators are a great way to get into sound-isolating earphones and dramatically improve the sound output from your digital music player. If you can afford to spend a little more, we think Shure’s E3c delivers better sound in a more stylish package. On the high end, we really like the enhanced response of the Shure E4c.
